The correct way to drink whiskey has been debated ever since it was created.
In this video, Charlie MacLean answers this age old question with great insight.
First, he asks if you are drinking to enjoy or appreciate because they are two different things. Drinking to enjoy is what you do when you’re out with some friends and stir your whiskey with your mixer of choice. Appreciation is taking the time to notice the taste, notice the mouthfeels, notice the aromas, and notice the craftsmanship of the distillers.
He then explains how water and ice affect the spirit and which type of glass to use for true appreciation.
Let us know what you think and if you’ll be taking your whiskey with water or ice from now on. Cheers!
